Everything You Need to Know About QANTRA

Clear answers about how our NFC event networking platform works — for organizers and attendees alike.

What is QANTRA?

QANTRA is a B2B event networking platform that makes professional connections at conferences and business events measurable and frictionless. Attendees open profiles through NFC or QR and explicitly connect after sign-in and event setup. Contacts are optional; organizers refresh recorded event metrics.

Who is QANTRA designed for?

QANTRA is designed for event organizers running professional business events — conferences, summits, networking evenings, startup expos, and industry forums. It is currently focused on the Belgian and European market, with a primary focus on professional and B2B events where meaningful networking is a key value proposition for attendees.

How does NFC event networking work at an event?

Each attendee receives an NFC-enabled badge or wristband programmed with a unique routing token. When an attendee taps their badge against another person's smartphone, the recipient's browser opens the tapping attendee's QANTRA event profile — no app installation required on either device. The recipient can then choose to connect, adding the profile to their "My Network" contact book for that event.

Do attendees need to download an app?

No. QANTRA's attendee profiles and connection flow are web-based and open directly in the device's browser. Neither the person tapping nor the person receiving needs to install any application. A verified account and event setup are required to connect.

What if a device doesn't support NFC?

Attendees can display their personal QR code from their own event profile. Attendees whose devices do not support NFC, or who encounter any compatibility issue, can simply scan the QR code with their camera app. The outcome is identical — the same attendee profile opens instantly in the browser.

How do two attendees actually connect?

When Attendee A taps their badge on Attendee B's phone, Attendee B sees Attendee A's event profile in their browser. After verified sign-in, active membership and profile setup, Attendee B explicitly chooses Connect. This records a mutual connection between both attendees in the platform, and the connection appears in both parties' "My Network" section for that event.

What happens after two attendees connect?

Once connected, both attendees can access only the contact fields the other owner currently permits through their network for that event. The connection is logged with a timestamp, allowing organizers to see networking activity when they refresh their dashboard. Attendees can review their connections after the event to follow up with their new contacts.

What information becomes available after a connection?

An attendee's event profile shows their professional details as set up for the event — typically name, title, and organization. Sensitive contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers are only shared according to the attendee's sharing settings and the mutual connection model. Phone numbers and email addresses are never publicly broadcast or visible to all attendees.

What can event organizers see in the dashboard?

Organizers access a dashboard refreshed from recorded facts showing total connections made, connection activity over the course of the event, and per-attendee networking engagement metrics. This gives organizers objective, measurable evidence of the networking value their event delivered — data that is useful for post-event reporting, sponsor reporting, and future event planning.

Does QANTRA replace physical business cards?

QANTRA is a digital alternative to the business card exchange that typically happens at events. Instead of collecting a stack of cards that often get lost or ignored, attendees build a structured digital contact book that persists after the event. Organizers benefit from this shift because first connections and eligible profile views are measured separately. My Network remains available only while event access and retention rules permit.

How is attendee contact information protected?

Physical NFC badges contain zero personal data — they hold only an opaque routing token. Personal details are stored securely in the QANTRA platform and are only surfaced according to connection rules and attendee sharing settings. QANTRA does not sell attendee data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Is QANTRA suitable for professional and business events specifically?

Yes. QANTRA is built specifically for professional B2B contexts — conferences, startup summits, tech forums, business networking evenings, and industry exhibitions where the quality and measurability of connections matters to both organizers and attendees. The platform is not designed for purely social events or consumer contexts.
