Privacy choices for event networking
Understand public event profiles, optional email and phone sharing, event-scoped connections, member directory choices and retention in QANTRA.
Understand what a public profile means
A valid NFC or QR link opens the published professional event profile without sign-in. Professional fields can include name, event company and role, goals, interests and LinkedIn. Someone who receives a forwarded link may also view it. Keeping these URLs out of search does not make the profile private.
Choose whether to share email or phone
Email and phone are excluded from public profiles. Separate sharing switches in the general profile initially default to off. After an authorized connection, only the contact fields the owner currently permits are shown. Changing a switch affects fresh authorized reads across the owner’s event connections.
Keep connections within their event
Connecting requires verified identity, current membership, completed profiles and event availability. There is no connection-request approval inbox. The relationship appears in both attendees’ My Network for that event. A connection in one event does not unlock contact details through a second event’s scanned profile.
Choose directory visibility separately
The event’s professional directory is available only to eligible members and contains separately opted-in event profiles. Directory listing defaults to off and is separate from contact sharing. Directory browsing never silently connects attendees or reveals their email and phone.
Remove a connection or delete your account
Either participant can remove a relationship from both networks for that event. Removal is not blocking; a fresh eligible visit and explicit Connect can restore the same relationship. Historical first-connection counts do not increase. Account deletion immediately makes the account unavailable and starts tracked cleanup. Copies already downloaded by another person cannot be recalled.
Expect event access to end
Each demonstration event has an explicit personal-data expiry. Event personal access stops at expiry and cleanup removes the event data. Scheduled event end alone does not close networking; an earlier configured connection deadline may apply. Saved event contacts are not promised permanent availability.
Staff access and questions
Organizer and NFC operator access is event-scoped and requires MFA. Authorization is checked on the server and in the database; robots rules are not security controls. This page explains implemented choices, not a security certification or legal compliance guarantee. Read the privacy policy and contact QANTRA with questions about your event or data.
