NFC and QR event networking

Plan NFC and QR event networking with web profiles, explicit attendee connections and a practical checklist for phones, internet and bracelet setup.

Two ways to open the same event profile

An assigned NFC bracelet opens a professional event profile when another attendee taps it with a compatible phone. A personal QR code opens the same event profile through the phone camera. Both use the mobile web experience, with no native app installation. QR is available in the attendee’s own event profile; printing a QR on every badge is not required by QANTRA.

Opening a profile and connecting are separate steps

The visitor can read the published professional profile without signing in. To connect, they need a verified account, active event membership and completed profiles. After setup, QANTRA returns them to the profile for an explicit Connect action. Signing in or tapping a bracelet never silently exchanges contacts.

Prepare the event before the first tap

QANTRA staff provisions the event and access permissions through controlled tooling. Confirm the event’s networking window and personal-data expiry. Help attendees complete their event representation and optional sharing choices. An operator assigns the bracelet to the correct event attendee and physically checks that it opens the right profile. Keep a QR option available for people whose phones cannot read NFC.

Rehearse on the phones people will use

Check an iPhone and an Android phone with the physical bracelet, a camera scan of the personal QR, and a first-time signed-out visitor. Verify the correct event and person before choosing Connect. Test the venue’s internet coverage. NFC opens a normal web address; it does not depend on browser Web NFC support. QR addresses an NFC reading issue, but both routes still require internet access.

Keep routing links out of search and reports

The bracelet stores an opaque routing token rather than a name, email or phone number. The link can be forwarded and may still open the published professional profile, so it is not private access. Contact details require the current connection and sharing permissions. QANTRA excludes attendee and token routes from search discovery.

What to discuss in a demo

Bring your event format, expected device mix, attendee setup process, venue connectivity and retention requirements. We can walk through the existing workflow and discuss the checks needed for your event. Hardware compatibility and event capacity require validation for the actual conditions.
